Tempered vs. laminated side glass

Most door windows are tempered glass. It's heat-treated to break into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards, which is safer in a crash but means a damaged window has to be replaced. Some newer vehicles use laminated side glass, a thin plastic layer between two sheets of glass, for added security and a quieter cabin. We replace your window with the type of glass your vehicle calls for.

Auto up/down and anti-pinch calibration

Many vehicles have one-touch windows with an anti-pinch feature that stops the glass if something is in the way. After new glass goes in, these functions can need recalibrating before they work correctly. We calibrate automatic up/down windows and anti-pinch features as part of the job, so the window behaves the way it did before.

If your car was broken into, take photos of the damage for your records, remove any valuables you can and keep the car out of the rain if possible until we arrive.

Can a broken side window be repaired instead of replaced?

Usually not. Most side windows are tempered glass, which shatters completely, so replacement is the only safe fix.

Will you clean up the broken glass?
